On 19/8/1995, the Supreme Council for Universities approved

a motion by Minia University to establish the Faculty of Languages

and Translations, later renamed the Faculty of Alsun.

Ministerial Decree 919on 28/8/1997 permitted the faculty

to adopt the internal regulations of the Faculty

of Alsun in Ain Shams University as approved by ministerial

decree 475 on 9/7/1974. The regulations applied starting

from the academic year 1997-1998.
