The Chinese Department held an orientation meeting for its new students on Monday, October 7, 2023, in the department's lab. The event was attended by Dr. Dalia Tantawi, Head of the Department, Dr. Doaa Mokhtar, Lecturer of Chinese Literature and Translation, and assistants.
The faculty staff members welcomed the new students, wishing them success and prosperity. They then provided an overview of China, its population, and culture, as well as the job opportunities available to graduates of the department.
The professors also explained the department's curriculum, discussed how to study the Chinese language, addressed the challenges new students might face, and offered solutions. Additionally, they introduced the students to the library, the language and translation center, and the lecture halls within the faculty.
At the end of the meeting, third- and fourth-year students joined their first-year peers to congratulate them on the new academic year, sharing advice on overcoming learning difficulties and emphasizing the importance of regular attendance and discipline in lectures
