The Department of English Language at the Faculty of Al-Alsun – Minia University, organized the English Cultural Day activities on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in a joyful and creative atmosphere marked by excellence and wide engagement from students and faculty members.

The event was held under the patronage and supervision of Professor Dr. Marwa El-Shereai – Dean of the Faculty, with active participation from faculty members, teaching assistants, and students who contributed significantly to the success of this exceptional day.

The program included a variety of purposeful cultural and artistic segments, notably:

1. Presentation on Positive Traits in British Culture
   Highlighting values such as respect for order, punctuality, politeness, cultural diversity, and volunteerism, while emphasizing how these values can inspire the development of local culture.

2. Introduction to Prominent British Historical Figures
   Students presented brief profiles of notable personalities including:

   • Henry VIII

   • Mary I

   • Guy Fawkes

   • Charles I

3. A Dramatic Scene from Shakespeare’s Macbeth
   Students performed one of the most famous scenes from the classic play, showcasing their acting and language skills.

4. “House Cup” Competition
   An interactive and motivating contest among student groups that fostered team spirit and cultural competition.

5. Sketch on Bad Translation
   A comedic and educational scene highlighting the importance of accurate translation to avoid embarrassing situations and cultural misunderstandings.

6. Sketch on the Differences Between British and American English
   A humorous and entertaining presentation illustrating the differences in pronunciation and vocabulary between the two dialects.

7. Memorial Video for Fourth-Year Students
   Featuring memorable moments from the students’ years of study, serving as a touching farewell tribute to the graduating class.

The event received great appreciation from both faculty and students, who praised the excellent organization, the diversity and richness of the presentations, and the team spirit and collective efforts that brought the students’ creativity to the forefront
